Asphalt patching is a great way to quickly and easily rejuvenate
your asphalt and bring it back to its original safe and
effective surface. Whether the utility company has just dug a
trench through your new subdivision road or your 10-year-old
parking lot has had a subgrade failure, Elam Construction can
make the repair. The sooner your asphalt is patched, the less
likely the damaged area will grow. A failing subgrade left
untreated will only become a larger and more costly problem.
To place an asphalt patch, we start by cutting out the targeted
area (either by saw cutting or jack hammering). The area cut is
slightly larger than the damaged area to ensure the patch is
tied into a solid foundation. We then fill the hole with asphalt
that meets or exceeds the existing asphalt depth and compact it
to match the original surface. Quality control when patching
asphalt reduces any transition roughness.
