| "Safety Pays" is a familiar Elam motto and educated and safe use of heavy asphalt paving equipment supports that philosophy. Elam offers educational assistance to Elam employees that wish to enroll in Heavy Equipment Training programs offered by CDOT (Colorado Dept. of Transportation) and CCA (Colorado Contractors Association) at the Community College of Aurora. Apprentices from these programs have had the opportunity to work on many Elam projects such as the nationally award winning Redlands Dam Boat Access in Mesa County. Elam has supported the Heavy Equipment Training program offered at Community College of Aurora for the past 5 years. The program is designed for minorities and women but is open to all.
THE PROGRAM REQUIRES:
- Minimum of 3000 work hours
- Maximum of 6000 work hours
- 1-3 years to complete
GRADUATE BENEFITS INCLUDE:
- Ability to operate 5 - 6 pieces of heavy equipment
- Earn CDL (Commercial Drivers License)
- Job placement opportunities
