Dedicated to Paving . . . and the Community

When you pave in Northern Colorado, you have to be dedicated to the job. Winter is long, summer is short and summer thunderstorms can cause delays. But the Northern Area crew has proved time and time again that they can "smooth the way" in even the roughest, toughest conditions.

Moffat County Road 57 was quite a challenge for the crews. In just 8 days in October 2000, crews put down 19,750 tons of asphalt, putting in long hours and showing characteristic dedication to the job at hand. Trucks -- 40 in all -- came from as far away as Denver to help with the job.

Even when Northern Area crews were challenged to their limits, they continue to deliver in a courteous and professional manner, as one client wrote . . .

"I want you to know how very much I appreciate the fine job your people performed when they paved my driveway. You would be proud of each individual who worked on the prep and paving crews. I found each to be hard working, professional and friendly -- truly qualities that are a tribute to Elam Construction."–Ron McLeod

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT GRAVEL. . .

During gravel pit permit processing one of the things that opponents try to prove is that pits are detrimental to wildlife. In the Bunn Ranch Pit in Craig, a visitor can find a wide variety of animals and birds. Deer and elk roam freely on the property, as do marmots. As for the bird population, this year you can see Golden and Bald Eagles, Blue Herons and Pelicans. We consider Bunn Ranch Pit, and all our Elam pits, a sanctuary for wildlife.
