ELAM CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN
HIGHWAY 50 PROJECT ON ORCHARD MESA
March 25, 2000 - Elam Construction, Inc. begins resurfacing Highway 50 from Noland Avenue to 29 1/4 Road this month as crews prepare for crack sealing, paving, shouldering and striping on this section of highway. The public can expect lane closures and delays from Monday to Friday, although special efforts will be made to minimize traffic impact during peak rush hours.
CDOT and Elam ask that drivers traveling in the construction area allow extra time to reach their destinations and advise choosing an alternate route whenever possible, in order to avoid delay. Alternate routes include 32 Rd./Hwy. 141 from Clifton.
The local media will provide updates on lane closures as needed. For safety, drivers should follow lane closure and traffic controls and remember that fines are doubled in work areas. For any questions or problems, a hotline number is available at 260-6119. The Highway 50 Resurfacing Project, which was awarded to locally owned Elam Construction, will cost
$1.35 million and will be completed by the end of June.
